Bake Sale Raises Funds for Local Charities

On Thursday 24th July, residents and staff at Hillside Lodge Care Home came together to host a charity bake sale in support of the Berwick Charities Cup, a fantastic local initiative that distributes funds to a wide range of smaller charities across the community.

In the days leading up to the event, residents enjoyed getting involved by baking delicious shortbread, carefully packaging it up, and preparing it for sale. Their efforts were met with great enthusiasm, as visitors and supporters eagerly purchased the homemade treats.

The bake sale proved to be a resounding success, raising £115 from baked goods alone, with a further £42 collected through generous donations – bringing the total to an incredible £157.

Everyone at Hillside Lodge would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who contributed, whether by baking, buying, or donating. Your support has made a real difference, helping to strengthen the local charities that do so much for our community.
